World champion Germanywill compete for medals 2024 Paris Olympics officially announced its final 12-man squad.
The last four players to be cut were Justus Hollatz, David Kramer, Leon Kratzer and Louis Olinde. However, according to the official statement, Hollatz will remain with the team and continue training in case of an injury.
The standout name on the roster is team captain and NBA veteran guard Dennis Schroder. Schroder, who played for the Toronto Raptors and Brooklyn Nets last season, averaged 14.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 6.1 assists in 80 games.
The roster is full of familiar faces, including 10 players from the team that won the 2023 FIBA World Cup. The Wagner brothers, Daniel Theis, Andreas Obst and others are back to deliver another victory.
New to the team are Oscar da Silva and Nick Weiler-Babb, replacing David Kramer and Justus Hollatz.
The final roster does not include New York Knicks center Isaiah Hartenstein and Dallas Mavericks power forward Maxi Kleber.
Germany will compete in Group B at the Paris Olympics alongside France, Japan and Brazil.
