Golden State Warriors Eyeing Coaching Upgrades and Roster Additions as Offseason Heats Up

While all the teams are busy trying to get the desired signings for their rosters, Golden State also has one eye on the bench. It is not surprising, since just a few days ago they lost Steve Kerr’s right-hand man with the departure of Kenny Atkinson, who is the new head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

With the loss confirmed, it is time to replace him, something that the Warriors are close to doing with two luxury reinforcements. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPNSan Francisco is signing both Terry Stotts and Jerry Stackhouse, the former as a lead assistant coach and the latter as an assistant.

If the signings are confirmed, Kerr will have two coaches at his side who have experience as head coachStotts had a great career with the Portland Trail Blazers alongside Damian Lillard, while Stackhouse has led a team in the G League.

In parallel to these movements in the coaching staff, Golden State has also activated the machinery to continue adding pieces to its roster with the acquisition of Buddy Hield, a player for whom they are negotiating a sign-and-trade con Philadelphia 76ers.
