GSBC AMOR: The Ultimate Student Badminton Club Experience in Groningen

GSBC AMOR stands for Groninger Studenten Badminton Club ‘Alles Met Ons Racket’, and is the only student badminton club in Groningen. At AMOR you have the chance to train twice a week: on Tuesday evening and on Friday afternoon. On Tuesday they play in six different training groups varying in playing level, so that everyone can play and train at their own level. The playing level is as diverse as you can imagine: the highest teams play at national level and the lower teams at regional level. However, it is also possible to play recreationally.

Training at AMOR consists of both receiving training from a trainer and playing matches following the training exercises. On Tuesday evenings they play in the Struikhal from 18:30-23:00. If you are playing badminton for the first time, it is best to come on Tuesdays from 20:00-21:30. If you already have some badminton experience, you can email [email protected] so that they can place you in a group better. On Fridays they train from 17:00-19:00 in the Struikhal. The training is mainly focused on competition players, but recreational players are also more than welcome to join.

The Promo Committee organizes a drink every first Wednesday of the month. During these drinks you get to know many members in a different way and it is always very pleasant. In addition to the drinks, dinners are regularly organized, such as the Dies dinner, Christmas dinner and closing season dinner. To start the season fit, a training camp is organized and towards the end of the season the Schierweekend is held.
