Hampyeongcheonji Badminton Competition Leads to Clothing Donation for Refugee Village in Manila

At the 15th Hampyeongcheonji Badminton Competition held on the 29th and 30th of last month, various people including contestants and members of the Hampyeong Red Cross participated in clothing donations, and a total of 20 boxes (approximately 1 ton) of clothing were received. The Gwangju-Jeonnam Branch of the Korean Red Cross announced on the 3rd that the Hampyeong District Council of the Korean Red Cross Volunteer Association held a clothing donation event at the 15th Hampyeong Cheonji Badminton Competition held for two days on the 29th and 30th of last month.

A total of 20 boxes (approximately 1 ton) of clothing were received through donations from various people, including contest participants and members of the Hampyeong Red Cross. The donated clothing will be delivered to a refugee camp in Manila, Philippines.

Lee Eun-chang, chairman of the Hampyeong District Council of the Korean Red Cross Volunteer Association, said, “Items that I don’t need could be useful to others,” and added, “I would like to thank everyone who participated in the clothing donation, which is an effort to protect the environment and share at the same time.”
