Hidalgo’s Performance at 2024 Conade National Games: A Call for Improvement

Hidalgo Sport.- Once the 2024 Conade National Games have finished, Hidalgo’s numbers are very similar to those of 2023, with a climb of one place in the general medal table, from 26 to 25, although there was a decrease of three medals, keeping the 14 golds.

Hidalgo finished her participation with 14 golds, 21 silvers and 27 bronzes, for a total of 61 medals, compared to 64 last year, divided into 14 golds, 15 silvers and 35 bronzes, which mark a minimal difference.

Campeche was placed above our state, with 71 medals, including 23 golds, which indicates a marked difference, while Zacatecas was placed below our state, with 44 medals, including nine golds.

This is the reality that our state experienced in the Conade Nationals, that once the administration of the Hidalguense Institute of Sport was changed, with the appointment of Oscar “Conejo” Pérez, as director, something should be done to climb positions for next year.

Hidalgo’s stagnation was evident in previous administrations, and at the beginning of the administration of the current governor, Julio Menchaca, with the initial appointment of Pipino Cuevas, who did not show the ability to improve the numbers.

However, these figures are of secondary importance, although first a balance must be made according to the report of the presidents of the associations and, based on this, a project must be drawn up that guarantees better results.

To this end, Oscar Pérez is expected to hold an informative meeting next week with the presidents of the associations and technical team, to analyze the performance of those who complied and those who failed.
