As evidenced by the improbable style “pineapple” with which the Estonian Mark Lajal, Carlos Alcaraz’s opponent in the first round, appeared. As tradition dictates, the Spanish title holder inaugurated the Centre Court this Monday.
“I hope his coach knows more about tennis than his hairdresser knows about haircuts!”joked legend John McEnroe, commentator for the ESPN channel. “What style !”, «Le flow !», “The stupidest haircut in Centre Court history!”, can we read in bulk on social networks. Some Internet users believe that this is a direct reference to the small pineapple that tops the Wimbledon trophy. Others compare the Estonian qualifier, 269th player in the world, to Tahiti Bob, character from The Simpsons, or even to Laa-Laa, one of the four Teletubbies.
