The Philadelphia 76ers are the leading favorites to sign Paul George to a free agent contract, ESPN reported.
After informing the Los Angeles Clippers of his decision to change teams, George is set to meet with a 76ers delegation in California.
George’s move comes after he failed to reach an agreement on a contract extension with the Clippers, who had also explored a trade option.
George, who is coming off a season averaging 22.6 points and 5.2 rebounds per game, could sign a four-year, $212 million deal.
His departure marks the end of the Leonard-George era at the Clippers, who will now look to rebuild the roster while retaining Kawhi Leonard and James Harden.
