Judo: An exciting and eventful day lies behind the young judoka from the Unna-Hamm-Dortmund (UHD) district, who showed impressive performances at the Westphalia Cup U13 in Lippetal. A total of eleven judo districts from the entire Westphalia area took part in this prestigious team tournament. The Holzwickede Judo Club is proud to have actively supported the district. Of the 24 fighters in the team, eleven came from JC Holzwickede. The team also consisted of talented judoka from clubs in Lünen, Dortmund, Werne and Selm. The young athletes competed in 16 weight classes and demonstrated their skills and determination in every fight.
A perfect start
The first encounter of the day was a complete success: The team won convincingly against the Warendorf/Münster district. The joy and motivation were great, and the judoka from the UHD district showed why they are among the best in the region.
A narrow setback and fighting spirit in the consolation round
In the second match, the team narrowly lost to the Recklinghausen district. Despite this defeat, the fighters did not let themselves be discouraged. In the consolation round, they faced the South Westphalia district and then the Paderborn district. They mastered both matches with flying colors and secured a place in the small final.
Battle for third place: A triumph
The small final was a hard-fought duel against the Bochum-Ennepe district. In a nerve-wracking match, the judoka finally prevailed and won third place for the Unna-Hamm-Dortmund district. A fantastic success that reflects the hard work and commitment of everyone involved.
