Nine days before their entry into the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the French women’s team continues its preparation. After having fulfilled their first immediate objective by winning against Sweden (2-1) at the end of the week to validate their ticket for Euro 2025, HervĂ© Renard’s Bleues now have their sights set on the Games.

Even if the evening match against Ireland remains an official qualifying match, it no longer presents any mathematical stakes, the Tricolores being assured of finishing in one of the first two places in their group.

Led by Sakina Karchaoui, who scored an exceptional long-range goal on Friday, the French women will be able to fine-tune the final adjustments by rotating their squad to avoid injuries against an opponent who has not yet picked up a single point during the qualifying campaign. In the first leg, played on April 5 in Metz, the French team won 1-0 thanks to Marie-Antoinette Katoto.

Present in a homogeneous group with Canada, New Zealand and Colombia, the Blues will begin their Olympic Games in Lyon on Thursday July 25 against the Cafeteras.

The Euro 2025 women’s qualifying match between Ireland and France will take place this Tuesday, July 16 from 7 p.m. It will be broadcast live on W9.
