Is Anfernee Simons on the Trading Block? Blazers Consider Moving Star Shooting Guard

The young 25-year-old shooting guard Anfernee Simons is one of the best long-range snipers in the NBA and has been one of the Blazers’ best players for years, in addition to being the oldest Oregon player on the current roster. But now, according to NBA insider Sean Highkin, the Trail Blazers could be ready to trade him. It has been considered that the Blazers would feel “committed” to build around Scoot Henderson and Shaedon Sharpe, who also did not shine, the first as a rookie and the second due to injury, last season. In which, in 46 games, Simons averaged 22.6 points, 5.5 assists and 3.6 rebounds per game on 43.0% shooting. In the aftermath of Damian Lillard’s departure, Simons has often run the offense in Portland but the glut of guards would advise management to maximize the profit that his trade could bring to a rebuilding team.
