In recent days, the PalaPellicone, at the Fijlkam Olympic Center in Ostia (Rome), hosted the National Final of the Italian Kata A2 Championship. The federal president Dr. Domenico Falcone and the competent National Commission headed by the president M° Giovanni Strazzeri were present.
From the beginning of the day, which saw the participation of many athletes from all over Italy, it was clear that the technical level of the couples was high and the judges, almost all of whom were of international level, were very careful in judging, given the importance of the competition.
The Asd “Scuola Judo Samurai” of Riposto of Master Giovanni Tomarchio was present with the couple Germana Toro and Paola Tomarchio who competed in the Kata: JU NO KATA, the athletes gained access to the national final after having participated in several national competitions during the year 2024. The girls at their first experience at such an important event were very excited, but they were aware of the responsibility to do well.
The preliminaries took place in the afternoon, arriving at the final verdict where the Ripostese couple Toro Germana and Paola Tomarchio conquered the podium with the Bronze medal behind the couple from Sardinia and behind the Italian Champions from Piedmont, with a gap of a few points.
Maestro Giovanni Tomarchio present at the competition was very happy with the finish line of his athletes, including Paola, daughter of art, and Germana who in less than two years of practice managed to obtain a good result. Sicily placed well in this championship, bringing home a Gold, a Bronze and a nice 4th place.
