Ivan Rakitic Signs with Hajduk Split: A Homecoming for the Croatian Star

Known worldwide for his success with the Croatian national team and Barcelona between 2014 and 2019, Ivan Rakitic has a new club. At 36 years old, the player will play for Hajduk Split and, for the first time in his career, will defend a Croatian team.

After leaving Al-Shabab, the midfielder decided to return to his home country and signed a one-season contract with the new team. His contract with the Arab team was terminated and he was left without a club.

Last season in Saudi Arabia, he played eight games, scoring one goal and assisting one. He arrived there after leaving Sevilla, where he played for just over three seasons.

Rakitic has 17 titles under his belt, including a Champions League, two Europa Leagues and a Club World Cup. Throughout his career, he has played for Basel, Schalke, Sevilla, Barcelona and Al-Shabab.
