The technical director of the U-20 Men’s National Team, Jorge Dely Valdescalled 24 players to participate in a preparation tour in Pachuca, Mexicowith a view to the CONCACAF U-20 Championship 2024.
Panama U-20 will be leaving for Mexico this Friday 5th of Julyor, in the morning hours, from the Tocumen International Airport.
For the U-20 Championship the official roster will be 21 playersso coach Dely Valdés will have to make a final cut of three players after the camp.
The CONCACAF Under-20 Championship will be From July 19th to August 4th in Celaya and IrapuatoMexico. This World Cup qualifier will award Four places at the U-20 World Cup of FIFA 2025.
Objectives: “Win the pre-World Cup and qualify for the World Cup”
Tauro FC defender Erick Díaz commented on the group’s objectives: “We have been preparing all the players every day with what the coach asks, we go with personality to do a good job and win that championship.”
Julio Rodríguez, a CD Plaza Amador player, emphasized the demands of training in order to achieve the objectives: “The training sessions are very demanding, very tough in view of the pre-World Cup. We are emphasizing not only qualifying for the World Cup, but also winning the pre-World Cup.”
“There is a good base of players, most of them have had minutes in the major league with their teams in LPF, I think we have healthy competition and we are working hard to give our best,” concluded Rodríguez.
