The Cannet town hall welcomed organizers, club members, volunteers and local elected officials for the review of the sporting year. A rich year, as was to be demonstrated by the various reports and the numerous interventions of the coaches of the many teams. After the welcome and the moral report presented by the co-presidents Hélène Coomans and Olivier Fabères, it was the reports of the sporting activities that took up a large part of the meeting. Trainers and other coaches, from U7 to seniors, had to recall the important facts of the sporting season, as many witnesses recalling the essential values of this sporting practice. With 136 members from 4 to 82 years old, the women’s basketball section of the JSR remains a dynamic club that gives pride of place to young people (65 players at the basketball school) and seniors with a new team of 11 players that has just been created this season. A season full of new features since the club has also just set up 2 new sections, health basketball and adapted basketball, each with 11 members; leisure basketball, another dynamic section, has 25 members. The general meeting was also an opportunity to thank players, coaches and trainers but also the many volunteers who work all year round to ensure the smooth running of the club: “Their support is invaluable and I thank them from the bottom of my heart; their involvement is invaluable and so important” declared Olivier Fabères. The financial report, with a budget of around 65k, attested to the good health of the club, while the office was renewed as a whole. Many awards marked this end of season before the interventions of guests and local elected officials; a set that concluded the season of a club where conviviality and fair play remain the watchwords.
