On Saturday, June 22 and Sunday, June 23, 2024, the Julio César Hidalgo Coliseum was the scene of the finals of the Provincial Basketball Tournament in the U10, U12 and U17 male and female categories.
This event was open to clubs from other provinces who were also able to participate. The tournament was organized and carried out by the Pichincha Basketball Association, with the aim of supporting the work and preparation of the Pichincha teams that will participate in the National Pre-Youth Games that will take place in the province of Los Ríos.
The final day of the tournament featured the U17 category teams, both men and women. For third place in the women’s category, the Monster team beat Andes de Otavalo and took third place, while for the title they faced Soldiers de Ambato, who won 64-53 against San Pedro de Quito.
Finally, in the men’s branch, Monster was crowned champion after beating the San Pedro de Quito team, a club led by Víctor González, by 72-67. Third place went to the Merani Calderón club, which beat Sevillas Team.
