July 4th schedule, program, streaming, RAI and Eurosport guide

Today, Thursday 4 July, the sixth stage of the 2024 Tour de France takes place. The 163 kilometers from the start in Mâcon to the finish in Dijon will be the second consecutive day in which the sprinters should make their voices heard and play for the victory under the finish line banner. Yesterday there was the historic victory n.35 by Mark Cavendish, today a new battle with very high tension.

There are just a thousand meters of altitude difference planned today, for an almost completely flat stage, with only one GPM to tackle. It will be a fourth category climb that will be passed almost immediately after the start, yes tract of the Col du Bois Clair (1.6 km at 6%). The route will pass through the intermediate sprint of Cormatin and cross the Saone-et-Loire Cote d’Or region, continuing the climb towards the north of France. Dijon finish line with a more technical finish than yesterday, with a roundabout breaking up the final straight on which we will have to pay maximum attention.

So far there have been two sprints and there have been as many unexpected winners. Biniam Girmay in Turin, and yesterday Mark Cavendish. Two historic victories in their own waywith the first African ever to win the Tour and the British rider becoming the most successful rider ever with 35 stage wins at the Grande Boucle. Will there be another winner or will there be a repeat of the two above mentioned? The one who wants to take revenge is Jasper Philipsen, whose legs didn’t respond well in yesterday’s sprint. To be understood how he is doing Mads Pedersen after falling yesterday, but as always the names are many.

The official start of the sixth stage of the Tour de France 2024 will be at 1.50 pm, while the arrival time is expected between 5.19 pm and 5.38 pm, depending on the average time of the group. Rai will offer complete coverage of the Grande Boucle in free-to-air, from 1.30 pm to 2.00 pm on Rai Sport HD and from 2.00 pm onwards on Rai Due; while Eurosport 1 will guarantee full viewing on TV on all its platforms.
