Status: 05.07.2024 10:00 a.m.

On July 26, the live broadcasts of the Olympic Games and then the Paralympics in Paris will start on Das Erste, on sportschau.de, on ARD radio and in the media library – the official accompanying song will be sung by the music group Revolverheld.

“We have known that Revolverheld has a heart for sport since the 2008 European Football Championship, when they sang the official national team fan song for the tournament. With “Einfach machen” they have now created the perfect title for our broadcasts from Paris,” said ARD sports coordinator Axel Balkausky about the new Olympic song.

“Finally qualified for the Olympics”

The official release date for Revolverheld’s new single is today. And another important date has already been set for the band: They will be taking part in the Sportschau EM pub quiz following the ARD semi-final at UEFA EURO 2024 on July 9th or 10th, live on Das Erste and in the ARD Mediathek.

“As a sports-loving band, we are extremely happy that we can contribute a song to the biggest sporting competition in the world. We have all been big Olympic fans since we were children and have now finally managed to qualify for it,” explained the musicians.

Extensive cross-media reporting

The Summer Olympics will take place in Paris from July 26 to August 11, and the Paralympics from August 28 to September 8. ARD will be providing extensive, cross-media coverage on Das Erste, on sportschau.de, in the ARD Mediathek and on the radio. All detailed information on the ARD broadcasts from Paris can also be found on the NDR overview page.
