“In Japan, it is the social expectation not to be a burden or to bother others,” Weitzdörfer told AZ Mainz“Because there was uncertainty for a few days and there was negative press, it is the public expectation that he would apologize for this.” The statement only apologised “to fans, supporters and other people close to him”.
According to the lawyer’s assessment, his release from custody also suggests that the results of the investigation will not lead to charges. This is also the assumption at Mainz 05, where the Japanese player is expected to start training as soon as possible, perhaps he will travel to the training camp that begins on Wednesday.
Originally, the start of FSV team training was planned for July 21. Sano was signed from Kashima Antlers at the beginning of July for a transfer fee of 2.5 million euros and given a four-year contract. He is to succeed Leandro Barreiro in defensive midfield, who moved to Benfica Lisbon.
