Kazakhstan finally drops out of the MotoGP World Championship calendar and a second round in Misano enters

MADRID, 15 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Kazakhstan Grand Prix will not be part of the 2024 World Championship calendar and will be replaced by the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, which will also be held at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli from 20 to 22 September.

“The FIM, IRTA and Dorna Sports announce the cancellation of the Kazakhstan Grand Prix. Operational and logistical problems resulting from the previous floods in the region have made it impossible to hold the event in 2024,” the championship organisers confirmed on Monday.

This event, which was to be the first of this season’s Motorcycle World Championships, was scheduled for mid-June, from the 14th to the 16th, but had to be postponed to early May due to the aforementioned severe flooding that hit the northern part of the country.

The championship has now reacted and will replace this Grand Prix with a new one, the Emilia-Romagna, which will take place from 20 to 22 September on the Misano circuit, the venue for the San Marino Grand Prix, which will take place weeks before, from 6 to 8 September.
