Kazakhstan GP cancelled after floods

The Kazakhstan Grand Prix of the motorcycle world championship will not take place this year. The reason for this is the consequences of a flood, the marketing company Dorna, the world association FIM and the team association IRTA announced jointly.

Logistical problems arose. Instead, the race will now be held from 20 to 22 September as the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli in Italy.

Originally, the race was supposed to take place in Kazakhstan in mid-June. However, the flood in spring meant that final work on the track could not be carried out. It would have been the premiere on the new Sokol International Racetrack.
