French star has the highest market value in football history
Kylian MbappéReal Madrid’s new signing, has become the most valuable player in the world, according to consultancy firm Football Benchmark. The French star’s market value has increased to 244 million euros (R$1.5 billion), the highest in football history.

The 25-year-old striker was worth 230 million euros (R$1.4 billion) in 2022, when he renewed with Paris Saint-Germain. The numbers rose after the player signed a 5-year contract with the Spanish club, in which he opted to go for free in a pre-contract, released since January of this year.
Mbappé has overtaken his current teammate Bellingham in the Football Benchmark rankings, who has a market value of €187.8 million (R$1.14 billion). Manchester City striker Haaland was just behind him, with €186.6 million (R$1.13 billion).
In his definitive purchase from PSG in 2018, the former Monaco star was signed for 180 million euros and remains to this day the second most expensive signing in the history of football, in absolute terms. The most expensive in history, also from the Parisian club, is Neymar with 222 million euros paid to Barcelona in 2017.
Currently in international commitments with the France for the Euro Cup, Mbappé enters the field against Portugal this Friday (5), in the quarter-finals, after Deschamps’ team beat the Belgium by 1 to 0 in the previous phase.
