The LA Clippers will put under contract for 3 years and 30 million of total dollars per wing Derrick Jones Jrcoming from the Dallas Mavericks.
The Clippers have already re-signed James Harden for two seasons and will lose Paul George in free agency barring any surprises, so they have taken cover at the wing spot with Jones Jrfresh from NBA Finals and starred in the playoffs with the Mavs. His contract will provide for a trade kicker del 5% which will increase his remaining salary by this percentage in the event of a new trade.
Derrick Jones Jr earned a spot from starter for the Mavericks last season, his first in Texas, as a small forward in coach Jason Kidd’s quintet alongside Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving. The one in Dallas was his best season of his career, numbers in hand, from 8.6 points per game with 3.3 rebounds and 34.3% from three-point range per game in 76 appearances.
