LA Lakers Reportedly Planning Multi-Year Contract for Bronny James, LeBron James’ Son

After the LA Lakers recently drafted Bronny James, there are now rumors about the contract design for LeBron James’ son.

As “The Athletic” reports, the Los Angeles Lakers plan to offer recently drafted Bronny James a multi-year contract as a rookie with a guaranteed salary.

According to the report, the franchise is fully convinced of the development potential of LeBron James’ son.

Bronny James was selected by the Lakers in the 2nd round as the 55th pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. The 19-year-old Bronny most recently played in college for the USC Trojans.

In July 2023, the talent collapsed due to cardiac arrest, and was subsequently diagnosed with a congenital heart defect, which, however, does not prevent him from playing competitive sports. In December, he returned to the field, but played only partially convincingly (4.8 points per game).

Not least because of this, it was unclear for a long time before the draft whether he would even be admitted or selected. Now he could soon be on the field alongside his father in the NBA for the LA Lakers.

“Legacy,” LeBron James wrote in capital letters on Instagram after his son was drafted by the Lakers.

The 39-year-old has often spoken in the past about dreaming of playing in the NBA with Bronny.
