Lakers hire Nate McMillan and Scott Brooks to support J.J. Redick

For his debut on the Lakers bench, JJ Redick will benefit from the wise advice of two historic NBA coaches. ESPN revealed this Wednesday that Nate McMillan and Scott Brooks will join the Angelinos coach’s staff for the upcoming season.

Heavyweight reinforcements, since McMillan (1,428 games on the bench) and Brooks (935 games) have a combined 1,189 wins in the League. A former point guard, McMillan (59 years old) has coached four teams since his debut on the bench in 2000 (Seattle, Portland, Indiana and Atlanta). Having spent time on the benches of Denver and Portland in particular, Brooks (58 years old) coached Oklahoma City for seven seasons, before spending five years in Washington.
