NBA Free Agency: LeBron James extends with the Lakers
4:55 p.m.: What I can definitely recommend to you: Our overview of all the deals, contract extensions and trades from free agency – we try to keep it up to date, of course. The teams should have easily spent $1.5 billion by now, if my math skills don’t fail me.
4.40 p.m.: In case you didn’t notice last night, here are a few more deals:
- Jonathan Isaac gets $84 billion for five years from the Orlando Magic
- Xavier Tillman stays with the Boston Celtics – two years for $10 million
- Moritz Wagner will receive $22 million from the Orlando Magic for another two years, so he will stay at the side of his brother Franz
- James Wiseman signs a two-year contract with the Indiana Pacers
4:25 p.m.: A deal from the Golden State Warriors last night! Forward Kyle Anderson is getting a three-year, $27 million contract with the Golden State Warriors. This is made possible by a sign-and-trade with the Minnesota Timberwolves. In return, the Wolves will get the right to trade second-round picks and a little cash.
4.10 p.m.: And perhaps the biggest news of the day is already here! As several US media outlets are reporting, LeBron James has agreed to a contract extension with the Los Angeles Lakers. That’s no surprise in itself, but the question was how long he would sign for – and whether he would even give up a bit of salary. Now we have the answer: two years – and no.

The 39-year-old will receive a two-year contract with a maximum possible salary of $104 million. He will hold a player option for the second year, and the “King” will also receive a no-trade clause.
