LeBron James Signs Maximum Salary Deal with Los Angeles Lakers: What to Expect

The surprise comes in Las Gaunas. LeBron James has reached a new agreement with Los Angeles Lakers to sign a commitment for the maximum salary allowed, that is, for two years and 2 million dollars, with the second season being optional for the player and also containing an “anti-transfer” clause, confirmed Adrian Wojnarowski of the media ESPN.

LeBron, who will be in his 22nd season in the NBA, will take things “step by step” and has therefore opted for the 1+1 signing option, as he does not know what his physique will look like at the end of 2025.

It should be remembered that he will be the only NBA player, along with Bradley Beal (Phoenix Suns), who will have the right to veto any transfer for him.

According to journalist Bobby Marks, his salary will be as follows:

  • 2024-25: $49.98 million.
  • 2025-26: $52.49 million.

Last season, his sixth in a row Lakersaveraged 25.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, 8.3 assists and 1.3 blocks in 35.3 minutes per day.

The next year 2024-25 will not be just any year as his wishes have finally been fulfilled and he will share a team with his eldest son Bronny James, who was precisely selected by the Angelenos through their 55th pick in the 2024 draft.
