LeBron James to Stay with Los Angeles Lakers, Could Play Alongside Son Bronny Next Season

According to media reports, basketball superstar LeBron James is staying with the Los Angeles Lakers and could be on the field with his eldest son Bronny next season. James has agreed to a two-year contract worth a maximum of 104 million dollars (96 million euros), reported ESPN and “The Athletic”.

The contract includes two options for James: He cannot be transferred from the Lakers to another NBA team and he can terminate his contract next summer. Bronny James (19) was selected by the team from California in the NBA draft and is reportedly set to sign a contract soon. The two would be the first father-son duo in NBA history.

James’ agent announced in recent days that the four-time NBA champion could forego part of his maximum possible salary if the Lakers strengthened their squad. The sum now reported is only slightly lower. Among other things, the Lakers failed to sign Klay Thompson from the Golden State Warriors.

The USA Olympic team, which includes James, will soon begin its preparations for the games in Paris. After that, the NBA record scorer will begin his 22nd season in the North American basketball league.
