Les Rives de Sèvre Nursing Home Residents Enjoy Olympic-Inspired Sports Demonstrations

In the context of the Olympic Games, the entertainment team of the Les Rives de Sèvre nursing home offers residents a sports demonstration every month by soliciting the associations and clubs of La Crèche and neighboring towns. Thus, residents have already enjoyed an archery session with the Flèche créchoise, judo with the Judo club créchois, Qi Gong du Dragon, badminton with the Badminton club créchois. This Wednesday, June 26, it was the taekwondo club Le Lotus de Chauray that traveled with 20 taekwondoists, including about ten children. They offered residents a presentation of kicking and punching techniques, self-defense sequences, choreographies of techniques called “poumses”, flexible fights and then fights with protections like at the Olympic Games. “The residents were impressed and really enjoyed discovering this discipline that requires tenacity, respect, humility, mastery, courage and diligence. We thank all the clubs for their participation. We are halfway through our sports project within the nursing home, and other associations are planned for the coming months such as football, handball, basketball, etc.” said Caroline Billeaud, host.
