Ligue 1 TV rights: a second offer with Discovery

At the League’s board of directors meeting held this Friday morning, a second solution, in addition to DAZN’s offer of €375 million per year over 5 years for 8 out of 9 matches, was proposed to the directors. It comes from Warner Bros Discovery, as mentioned by RMC. The American media and entertainment conglomerate is said to be proposing to integrate the League’s channel into its Max package, which would include all of Ligue 1 as well as other sports content and series. It could bring in up to €600 million per year depending on the number of subscribers. This option, which seemed to be more successful with the presidents of clubs that are members of the board of directors than that of DAZN, will also be presented in detail and debated this Saturday during a Ligue 1 college organized urgently.
