Twenty boys and girls participated in this sporting activity. They are part of the Cycling Academy promoted by the Mayor’s Office of Managua and which has its headquarters in the Friends of the Villa Progreso Colony Park.
This day is framed in the 15th anniversary of the Transition to Immortality of Three-time World Champion and former mayor Alexis Argüello.
“Alexis is present in the sporting growth of these boys and girls athletes, who are growing in love with the practice of sports,” said Paola Gutierrezcoordinator of the Alexis Argüello Sports Movement.
Noel GonzalezDirector of Sports of the Mayor’s Office of Managua, took advantage of the activity to invite parents to enroll their children in the different sports academies promoted by the municipality.
“The different ones are participating here boys and girls who are in the mayor’s academies, In this case, those who practice cycling and receive their classes on Saturdays and Sundays in the Villa Progreso park,” said Gonzalez.
The children who participated in this children’s circuit received awards from the capital city, which promotes sports as part of the priority programs of the Government of Reconciliation and National Unity.
The Mrs. Carolina Diaz, The mother of one of the cyclists said that her children have been enrolled in the academy for a year, a time that has allowed them to strengthen the value of discipline, perseverance and love of sport.
“My children are quite active and now there are sports academies for them to have fun, there are activities quite often, They invite us to races and my children have a lot of fun”Diaz said.
He stressed that boys and girls can participate free of charge in each of the academies, which promotes the Managua City Hall.
In Managua and in all the departments of the country, thanks to the will of the Sandinista Government, different sports academies have been formed in sports such as football, chess, judo, taekwondo, karate, baseball, basketball, boxing, cycling and other sports.
