Manchester United are eyeing Martín Zubimendi as a midfield reinforcement. The 25-year-old Spaniard is currently contracted to Real Sociedad, but according to The Telegraph there is a chance he could move to Old Trafford.
Manchester United have been looking for a midfielder for some time now. Casemiro may leave if the right offer is made, Scott McTominay is attracting interest from Fulham and Galatasaray, Mason Mount was barely fit last season and prefers to play a bit further forward, and Christian Eriksen has not had the best year of his career.
Manuel Ugarte currently seems to be the main candidate to strengthen Erik ten Hag’s midfield. The Uruguayan is supposed to come from Paris Saint-Germain, but the Parisians are asking a hefty fee.
Zubimendi is also in the picture. The ten-time international of Spain – Zubimendi was a substitute in the 2-1 win over England in the European Championship final – has been showing good things for years at Real Sociedad and sees that rewarded with interest from Manchester United.
Transfermarkt estimates Zubimendi’s value at fifty million euros. Given his contract runs until mid-2027, his employer will not part with him for less.
Adrien Rabiot is also mentioned as an option for Manchester United. The Frenchman left Juventus this summer after five years and can therefore be picked up on a free transfer. In the past, Rabiot has also been linked with a move to Manchester several times.
The Telegraph finally mentions Sofyan Amrabat. The Moroccan international was loaned to Manchester United from Fiorentina last season, but the Red Devils have not yet exercised the purchase option in the loan agreement.
