Marjolène Penaguin Receives 1st Dan Judo Black Belt at Chaillac Dojo: A Momentous Achievement for the Club

Recently, Marjolène Penaguin was awarded the 1st dan judo black belt at the Chaillac dojo. Marjolène Penaguin has been practicing judo for about fifteen years. She started this combat sport at the age of 10 and has obtained all the belts over time. Up to this 1st dan black belt which was awarded to her by Jean-Philippe Duez, current president of the Chaillac Judo club, and Bernard Legrix, founding president with whom Marjolène started.

“Marjolène is the fifth judoka from the club to be awarded this 1st dan black belt”said Jean-Philippe Duez, recalling that the first female black belt dates back to 1983, three years after the founding of the club founded in 1980.

Since then, the Chaillac club has evolved to the point where it currently attracts 68 members, equally divided between men and women, all belts combined. Children are accepted from the age of 4.
