Bandung – There was a new face at Persib Bandung’s training session at Arcamanik Stadium, Bandung City, Tuesday, July 9, 2024. He is Persib’s new player from Croatia, Mateo Kocijan.

Mateo Kocijan is Persib’s new recruit in the early transfer market of the 2024/2025 Liga 1 season. The 29-year-old player is tied to a one-year contract.

Mateo Kocijan looked enthusiastic in devouring the program given by the coaching team. However, when entering the medium side game, the former FK Partizan player only did light training by jogging around the field.

Persib coach Bojan Hodak explained that Mateo was only given light training because he had just arrived in Bandung last night. So, he was reluctant to take risks.

“Some players have arrived, Mateo has arrived but he only jogged because he travelled for 30 hours. So if you push him too hard in training, he could get injured,” said Bojan.

In addition to Mateo, two other players Marc Klok and Victor Igbonefo have also joined the team. Meanwhile, Ciro Alves and David da Silva are still on their way.

“Marc (Klok) is back, Ciro and David are on their way back, Kevin will be back soon, Victor is already here,” he explained.

Meanwhile, Tyronne del Pino is still absent due to administrative matters. Tyronne was previously loaned by Persib to the Thai League club, Ratchaburi FC.

“Tyronne is still taking care of his KITAS, because he went to Thailand and had to re-take care of his KITAS,” he said.
