Nicknamed the Eye of Helvetia, the Tour de la Molière offers a breathtaking view of the lakes of Neuchâtel, Morat and Bienne, as well as the Alps, the Jura and the Swiss plateau. On the heights of Murist, in the Broye fribourgeoise, it represents the only preserved vestige of an imposing castle and a medieval village built at the end of the 12th century. Founded in 2009, the Association of Friends of the Tour de la Molière is actively involved in the promotion and preservation of this heritage, with the municipality of Estavayer.

To mark its 15th anniversary, the site around the tower will be the heart of a large medieval festival, this Saturday, July 6, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Fights and presentation of the equipment of the company of La Garde du Mont-Gibloux, introductions to archery, juggling games, dances, parades and guard towers will be part of the program, as will visits to the tower, former seat of the Molière family. The festivities will also be the occasion to inaugurate a new shelter and three benches, to better accommodate visitors for a barbecue or a moment of rest. Information on www.tourdelamoliere.ch.
