Melanie Leupolz, Real Madrid’s third signing for next season

MADRID, 4 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –

German footballer Melanie Leupolz, 30 years old and from Chelsea FC, became this Wednesday the third signing of Real Madrid Femenino for the next season 2024/25, as announced by the merengue club itself on its website.

“The German midfielder joins our club from Chelsea, where she has won nine titles in four seasons. Before that, she spent the first 10 years of her career in the Bundesliga, between FC Freiburg and Bayern Munich, where she won two league titles,” Real Madrid said in a press release.

With the German national team, Leupolz has won a European Championship and a gold medal at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. In the youth ranks of ‘Die Mannschaft’, the midfielder was also runner-up at the U-20 World Cup.

“I think it’s a great privilege to join such a big club, with so much history and global prestige. It’s been a very proud moment for me. Since I’ve arrived here, everyone has been so nice and welcoming. The facilities are just wonderful, everything looks very new and professional,” Leupolz told the club’s official media.

“I like to read the game, to structure the game and to support my teammates. I try to talk a lot and make a lot of comments. I want to help the team win. I always give my all, I always fight until the last minute,” added the German midfielder.

“I want to bring my experience to the team. I’ve been playing football for several years now, so I want to bring all that to this new team and I want to help the young players shine, handle pressure and, in short, contribute to success,” concluded Leupolz.
