Mexican Archery Team Prepares for Paris 2024 Olympics with Training Camp in France

The Mexican archery team carried out its last technical check-up at the National Centre for the Development of Sports Talents and High Performance (CNAR) before embarking on their trip to France, where they will have a camp with a view to their participation in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Alejandra Valencia, Ana Paula Vázquez, Ángela Ruiz, Matías Grande, Javier Rojas and Bruno Martínez underwent an intense day of Olympic rounds in all the events they will compete in at the grand event: individual, team and mixed teams.

The event had a special touch because not only were authorities from the National Commission for Physical Culture and Sport (CONADE) and the CNAR present, but students were also given access to play an important role as spectators to simulate the environment that the athletes will experience at the summer competition.

Likewise, there was an outstanding participation of the Aztec para archer Samuel Molina Núñez, qualified for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games and number one in the world ranking, who shot with authority and represented a difficult test for his compatriots.

The matches were played equally among the six teams, as all of them secured a spot in Paris 2024, the third Olympic edition where Mexico will attend with a full team, as happened in Munich 1972 and London 2012.

At the end of the technical inspection, the national goalkeepers and coaches, Miguel Flores (women) and Alejandro Vélez (men), took the opportunity to thank CONADE and CNAR for their support throughout the process leading up to Paris 2024; they also socialized with the people who gathered at the sports complex.

It was the last competition simulation in our country for the athletes, who next Sunday will head to the European continent to acclimatize and get in top form for the Olympic competition; archery will begin on July 25 and will be shot on August 4.
