Mexico Aims for Historic Medal Record at Paris 2024 Olympics

Hidalgo Sport.- Let’s go Mexico! With just one month to go until the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and more than 100 places secured, the tricolor country is set to have a great summer event in which it aims to break a historic medal record.

With several athletes triumphing in World Cups in disciplines such as diving, archery, artistic gymnastics, artistic swimming, surfing and modern pentathlon, and others being the best at continental level, the Aztec delegation is exciting the entire country with an Olympic participation in which 10 medals can be achieved.

And it has been a historic Olympic process for Mexico. They reaffirmed their reign at the San Salvador 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games with 353 medals: 145 gold (record), 108 silver and 100 bronze. In addition, they finished on the podium at the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games by finishing third with a harvest of 142 medals: 52 gold (record), 38 silver and 52 bronze.

The discipline in which the most medals are expected is undoubtedly diving, with up to 10 places guaranteed. However, Mexico has been a constant winner of medals in disciplines such as archery and taekwondo, while this year it comes as a big surprise in artistic swimming and artistic gymnastics.

There are only a few places left to be allocated, and it is expected that official classification will also be granted in disciplines such as golf and women’s walking. In team sports, there is still the pre-Olympic basketball tournament, where the ’12 Warriors’ are looking to make a splash.
