Bundesliga club MLP Academics Heidelberg has signed US guard Michael Weathers. League rival Ludwigsburg has announced a contract extension and a departure.

As the Heidelberg team reported on Wednesday, guard Michael Weathers has signed with the Neckar team. The professional from the USA signed a contract until summer 2026, the club announced. The agreement includes a mutual option after the first year of the contract. The 26-year-old Weathers comes from the Austrian club Kosterneuburg Dukes.
Buie leaves Ludwigsburg
Meanwhile, the MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg have extended the contract with point guard Johannes Patrick for another year. The 22-year-old son of coach John Patrick will now stay in Ludwigsburg until 2025, the club announced on Wednesday. The 1.86-meter-tall professional comes from the MHP Riesen youth team and is entering his eleventh season with them.
On the other hand, Desure Buie is leaving Ludwigsburg; the point guard from the USA will play for BC Neptunas Klaipeda in Lithuania.
