[정필=[경북] [Reporter Yang Sang-ho [email protected]]On the 3rd, Mungyeong City inspected the competition facilities together with the Asian Judo Federation Competition Committee Chairman who visited Mungyeong to successfully host the ‘2024 Mungyeong Asian Youth Judo Championships’ to be held in August.
This on-site inspection was attended by officials from Mungyeong City, the Asian Judo Federation Competition Committee, the Korea Judo Association, and the Mungyeong City Sports Association, and included a final inspection of the stadium’s main facilities and discussions on areas for improvement.
The Asian Judo Federation Competition Committee Chairman, after completing the on-site inspection, expressed his hope that not only judo but also many other international competitions will be held in Mungyeong in the future, and said that he would do his best to have as many countries as possible participate in this competition.
Meanwhile, the 2024 Mungyeong Asian Youth Judo Championships, hosted by the Judo Federation of Asia (JUA), is an international competition with approximately 1,000 Asian youth and adolescents from 40 countries participating. Male and female athletes in 30 weight classes plan to show off their skills they have been honing for four days from August 29 to September 1 at the Mungyeong Indoor Gymnasium, Mungyeong Badminton Court, and other venues.
Mayor Shin Hyun-guk of Mungyeong City said, “I sincerely welcome the visit of Che Kuong Hon, the Chairman of the Asian Judo Federation Competition Committee, to Mungyeong City, and I will not spare any administrative or financial support to ensure the successful hosting of the competition.”
