After an archaic season with a meager tenth place in Serie A, Napoli wants to fight for the prizes again next season. Antonio Conte has been appointed as the new coach and a strong transfer offensive could follow in the coming weeks.
This offensive could have a significant Belgian connotation. With Cyril Ngonge, Conte has a Belgian striker at his disposal anyway, but he is also aiming for a reunion with Romelu Lukaku. The striker is expected to leave Chelsea permanently this summer and he would be Napoli’s priority in the event of Victor Osimhen’s departure.
But things may not stop there. In recent weeks, Napoli have been linked with a number of other Belgians and Jupiler Pro League players, including Red Devil Aster Vranckx and Mohamed Amoura, who looks set to join Wolfsburg. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Napoli could also be knocking on the doors of Anderlecht and Antwerp.

Sporting director Giovanni Manna also wants to attract players of the future and to do so, he has reportedly set his sights on the two Belgian clubs. Jurgen Ekkelenkamp, George Ilenikhena and Mario Stroeykens are said to be on his wish list.
The chances of Stroeykens leaving Anderlecht are slim, however. The 19-year-old attacking midfielder was also reportedly approached by Fiorentina earlier this summer, but turned down a move. He still appears to be looking to take the necessary steps at Anderlecht before he is ready to move abroad.
Ekkelenkamp and Ilenikhena more viable than Stroeykens
With Antwerp expected to sell again this summer, a transfer of Ekkelenkamp and Ilenikhena could be negotiated. The latter has been mentioned several times in recent months by CEO Sven Jaecques as one of the players who could be monetized. The 17-year-old striker is said to be coveted by several big clubs.
Italy have also been interested in Ekkelenkamp in recent months. He has been mentioned several times at Torino. The 24-year-old Dutchman could well opt for a new step after two years at Bosuil.
