NBA Free Agency: Major Moves and Signings on Day One

The first day of free agency in the NBA is always full of twists and turns. The first comes from Philadelphia, with the 76ers who signed Paul George. This is definitely the purchase of the day: a four-year contract worth 212 million. Phila who in the meantime has renewed the other star, Tyrese Maxey who has grown exponentially in the last two seasons, so much so that he has deserved a contract renewal for 5 years and a total of 205 million dollars. Also an agreement with Kelly Oubre, who has joined the 76ers again with a two-year contract worth 16 million, Drummond and Eric Gordon, a veteran skilled in shooting from the arc.

The Clippers’ moves

The Clippers, after losing George, take Derrick Jones Jr, recent star with the Mavs (three-year, 30 million); Dallas will replace him with Naji. Ballmer’s team also takes Kevin Porter Jr and renews Harden (two-year, 70 million) and Westbrook.

A play for Wemby

Fantastic move for Popovich’s Spurs, who manage to find a playmaker to pair with Wemby in the starting five, and what a playmaker! We’re talking about Chris Paul, released by the Warriors and who will now go to San Antonio for 11 million. He’s advanced in age, but CP3 will certainly make his contribution. Lobs and dunks everywhere for the Spurs.

The other negotiations

Jalen Smith leaves Indiana, going to earn 27 million dollars in three years in Chicago. Pacers who instead renewed former Knicks Obi Toppin with a four-year contract worth 60 million. Bulls who will have Patrick Williams back in their squad (5 years worth 90 million). Experience blow for the Magic who steal Kentavious Caldwell-Pope from the Nuggets with a three-year deal worth eleven million per season. The Suns take Plumlee under the basket and confirm Bol Bol and O’Neale.
