news for the ULTRA 5 – Sport Marketing News

PUMA has unveiled the ULTRA 5 ULTIMATE and ULTRA 5 CARBON Formula Pack editions. Both versions of the ULTRA 5 will take to the field during the knockout stages of the European Championships and the Copa America worn by selected players at the most important stages of the competitions.

PUMA is pushing the ULTRA 5 to the next level, delivering the speed and feel of a finely tuned machine on your feet, thanks to years of engineering experience from PUMA Motorsport. The all-new SPEEDSYSTEM outsole and FastTrax stud design have been precision engineered to enable maximum speed.

The new ULTRA 5 ULTIMATE Formula Edition kicks into high gear with PUMA’s SPEEDSYSTEM outsole, featuring a springy plate and innovative stud configuration for lightning-fast acceleration. Sprint, cut and stop faster with the FastTrax stud design for multi-directional traction and for maximum stability, the ULTRA 5 uses an all-new PWRTAPE SQD support frame to stabilize the foot within the boot without impeding agility and freedom of movement.

Speaking about the ULTRA 5, Dominique Gathier, Senior Director Product Line Manager Teamsport Footwear, said: “Following the incredible success of the ULTRA 5 CARBON Launch Edition, today we’ve introduced two editions of the ULTRA 5: the ULTIMATE and CARBON versions. Both use an all-new stud configuration that allows you to sprint and stop faster than ever before, because the modern game demands rapid speed over short and long distances, as well as in all directions. The FastTrax studs integrate key design insights from academic research and traction studies to provide increased traction when accelerating, cutting and braking.”

Dominque continued: “The new SPEEDSYSTEM is PUMA’s proprietary outsole design that combines a high-performance fiber base material with an external heel counter and a revolutionary stud system to maximize energy return for faster acceleration. The three heel studs improve braking, because traction is greater when the rear studs are closer to the centerline.”

Romain Girard, Senior Director Innovation, took a closer look at the full-carbon sole and its implications for the new ULTRA 5. “The main difference you’ll notice between both editions is that the CARBON version features a full carbon plate, making it the fastest version of our fastest boot. The SPEEDSYSTEM outsole of the ULTRA 5 CARBON is made entirely of carbon fiber, making it 32% quicker than the non-carbon version, allowing you to change direction in an instant and explode in any direction before the defender can react, for unrivaled speed.”

“PUMA has a history of using carbon in their football boots, but for the new ULTRA 5 we have evolved the way we use the material and implemented it in a new way. Taking inspiration from our collaborations in motorsport, carbon is one of the most explosive and lightest materials, used in many of the world’s fastest cars due to its incredible lightness and speed properties. What’s unique about our application is that we have changed the weave pattern and direction of the fibres to create a unique application of the material that provides an even faster sole.”

PUMA continues to offer its Women’s Fit with a slimmer fit adapted to the anatomy of the female foot, the ULTRA 5 is designed to enhance the comfort and performance of female athletes, built differently to support the women who make the difference on the pitch. The ULTRA 5 Women’s Fit combines the latest ULTRA technologies, such as the SPEEDSYSTEM outsole and FastTrax stud design, with a tailored fit designed specifically for the female foot.
