NHL | Faksa changes the team in the NHL, strengthens St. Louis

Faksovi will enter the final year of a five-year, $16.25 million contract this coming season and can become an unrestricted free agent when it expires. This year, Faksa scored 19 points for seven goals and 12 assists in 74 games of the regular season. He scored one goal in eight playoff matches.

Dallas selected Faksa in the 13th round of the 2012 draft. In nine seasons in the long-term part of the NHL, the Czech forward played 638 games and collected 200 points for 89 goals and 111 assists. In the fight for the Stanley Cup, he started 79 duels, scored nine goals and assisted on 11.

Twenty-seven-year-old Joseph has the most experience in the NHL from Tampa Bay, with whom he celebrated winning the Stanley Cup in 2020 and 2021. In the regular season, he played 360 games and scored 135 points for 55 goals and 80 assists. He scored two passes in 10 playoff games. Joseph is halfway through a four-year, $11.8 million contract.

Dallas was active on Monday when the free agent market opened. The biggest addition was Canadian defender Matt Dumba, who started last season in Arizona and finished it in Tampa Bay. The former Minnesota player signed a two-year, $7.5 million contract. Russian defenseman Ilya Lyubushkin signed a three-year, $9.75 million contract with the Stars after his engagement in Toronto.

Goalie Casey DeSmith (most recently Vancouver), defensemen Kyle Capobianco (Winnipeg) and Brendan Smith (New Jersey) and forwards Cameron Hughes and Kole Lind (both Seattle) also came. Canadian forward Matt Duchene agreed to continue in Texas, signing a one-year contract for three million dollars.
