IT Home checked Nike China’s official website and the official statement is as follows:

In 2019, Nike released the self-lacing basketball shoes Adapt BB and launched the Adapt App. Five years later, starting March 27, 2024, the Adapt App will be removed from Apple and Android app stores around the world.

In the English version, Nike officially stated that it will retire the Adapt App on August 6 and remove it from Apple and Android app stores around the world.

The Nike Adapt BB sneakers use a custom motor and gear system that determines how tight to automatically lace up the shoe when the user puts it on. The user can manually adjust the fit using a lighted button on the side of the shoe or the Nike Adapt app.

Why did Nike remove the Adapt App?

Nike has had tremendous success with Adapt and self-lacing shoe technology. However, we will not be creating new Adapt shoes.

Once the Adapt App is removed from the App Store, will it be deleted from my iOS or Android device?

If you already have the Adapt App installed on your device, you can continue to use your Adapt shoes with its guidance.

Can I continue to use my Adapt shoes without the Adapt App?

Yes. You can manually lace up your Adapt shoes without the Adapt App, but you will not be able to use the light feature or phone lacing function.

If I selected a specific color of light in the app, will my shoes still retain that color after the Adapt App is removed?

Yes. Your shoe will keep the last lighting combination you selected. If you don’t have the app installed, the default colors will appear.
