Nomination completed: German Olympic team with 463 athletes

463 athletes are on the German team for the Olympic Games in Paris (26 July to 11 August). In the last round of nominations, the athletes received their Olympic ticket.

The German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) announced the names of 81 more Olympic athletes on Friday (July 5, 2024) in Düsseldorf after its fifth round of nominations. The team currently comprises 463 athletes. However, 47 of them are reserve athletes. In Tokyo three years ago, 434 German athletes were nominated.

The German athletics team in Paris includes Tokyo Olympic champion Malaika Mihambo, Owen Ansah, who was the first German to stay under the ten-second mark over 100 m (9.99) at the national championships in Braunschweig last week, as well as decathlon stars Niklas Kaul and Leo Neugebauer.

Composition of some teams still open

In some team sports, such as women’s and men’s handball, the DOSB has initially nominated a pool. The names of the athletes will be announced in the coming days. The riders will also only announce who will receive the Olympic tickets next week.
