There are sports champions, from volleyball player Elena Pietrini, patron of the second edition, to the captain of the newly promoted team in A2 Libertas Livorno, Tommaso Fantoni, passing through the Paralympic champion of sitting volleyball Giulia Aringhieri and the archer Matteo Panariello. But above all there are hundreds of children, teenagers, very young people and even entire families and not so young to certify the success of the second edition of the Notte bianca delo Sport, the event organized by the Municipality of Livorno and the Lem Foundation that took place yesterday, Saturday 13 July. A unique event in the national panorama that involved dozens of associations and sports clubs, committed to setting up rings, dance floors, basketball, tennis and volleyball courts in the streets of the Cittadella dello Sport. And then arenas, fencing platforms, windsurfing stations, obstacle courses and much more.
The mayor of Livorno, Luca Salvetti, was definitely satisfied at the ribbon cutting of the second edition: “After last year’s result – said the mayor – with over 15 thousand people, I understand that this time it will go even better judging by the movement. It is the result of an incredible organizational work and for this I wanted to thank the offices of the municipal administration, in particular the Sports office, and the Lem Foundation which sees here the architects of a very complicated but also extremely beautiful and well-done work”.
“This year we fixed some things that hadn’t worked, not a lot actually, and gathered the disciplines a bit better – continued the mayor -. And then compared to last year we have the extra school field, which in my opinion is very significant. It seems to me that everything is working at its best, there is a great participation of both young and old. There is great satisfaction even if the balance will be made at the end, but the White Night of Sport in my opinion is becoming a structural element of the longest summer in the world and we are particularly satisfied with this”.
