Novak Djokovic Takes Aim at Director Amélie Mauresmo Ahead of Wimbledon Opener

Novak Djokovic finished his round of 16 match at Roland Garros after three in the morning. The Serb still hasn’t got over the fact that director Amélie Mauresmo is treating him like this.

On Tuesday, Novak Djokovic will play the first round of Wimbledon
against the modest Vit Kopriva. It is almost a miracle that the Serbian can take part in the Grand Slam tournament on grass, only less than a month after his knee operation.

The 37-year-old tennis player approaches this tournament with
great ambitions. “My thoughts are on the tournament, I feel good physically. The whole body is prepared for maximum effort. The good thing is that the Grand Slams are played every two days.”he told the Serbian media Sports club.

Djokovic stings Mauresmo without naming her

“Nole” takes the opportunity to address a dig at Amélie Mauresmo. “At least here, I know that I won’t finish the matches at three in the morning, since there is a curfew. So I won’t experience a situation identical to that of Roland-Garros. I have a good team around me, we have prepared well,” explained the Belgrade native, referring to his round of 16 match against Musetti on the Parisian clay.

If he were to win Wimbledon on July 14, Novak Djokovic would enter tennis history even further. With 25 Grand Slam titles, he would be the absolute holder of victories in “majors”, a record he currently shares with Margaret Court.
