The prospective player training course is now in its third edition. From July 28th to 31st, ÖFB talents born between 2005 and 2008 will train at the Lindabrunn sports school.

As with the two previous editions, the course will be led by team manager Ralf Rangnick and his co-trainers Lars Kornetka, Peter Perchtold and Stefan Oesen.

29 field players – including new striker Arjan Malic, who has previously played for Slovenia’s youth teams – and four goalkeepers will be called up for the training days in Lindabrunn.

ÖFB sports director Peter Schöttel, Günter Kreissl (Head of Project12, Head of Goalkeeping) and all ÖFB team bosses are also taking part in the perspective training course.

“Show the country’s greatest talents what matters”

“The European Championship in Germany has shown that we can compete at the absolute top level. The aim of the ÖFB is to do everything to ensure that the national team becomes even more successful in the near and distant future,” says team manager Ralf Rangnick and explains:

“We want to show the country’s greatest talents at the prospective player training course what is important in the national team, we want to encourage and challenge them so that they are as well prepared as possible for future tasks. My coaching team and I want to get to know the players on and off the pitch and get a comprehensive picture of them.”

He adds: “Especially when we see that the playing time for young Austrian players in the Bundesliga and the 2nd division is continuously decreasing, we must place even more emphasis on the development of our talents so that they are as well prepared as possible for professional football.”

All training sessions are open to the public. Training takes place at the Lindabrunn sports school on Sunday (July 28th, 6 p.m.), Monday (July 29th, 11 a.m.), Tuesday (July 30th, 11 a.m.) and Wednesday (July 31st, 11 a.m.).
