Olympique Lyon has definitively taken over Orel Mangala from Nottingham Forest. The French club exercised the purchase option of 23.4 million. The Red Devil signed a contract until 2028.
Orel Mangala has been playing for Olympique Lyon on loan since February. He was loaned to the French club by Nottingham Forest with a purchase option.
Mangala played 12 times for Lyon, 8 times in Ligue 1 and 4 times in the French Cup, which Lyon lost to PSG in the final.
Lyon thought that was enough to exercise the purchase option of 23.4 million. Nottingham Forrest will still retain 10% of the resale value in the event of a subsequent transfer.
On their website, Lyon say they are happy to see Mangala continue to contribute to the club’s successes and are convinced that his talent and commitment are valuable assets for the club’s future challenges.
