Outstanding Performances by Judo Fighters from TuS Hackenheim eV at Urmitz am Rhein Tournament

At the extremely well attended tournament in Urmitz am Rhein on June 30th with over 200 participants, 7 fighters from the Judo department of TuS Hackenheim eV took part. […]

David Johnson fought in the weight class up to 26 kg in the U11. David is a real judo talent. He often manages to use his opponents’ attacks to his advantage, is physically strong for his age and has the will to win. David only had to admit defeat in the final to an older and more technically advanced judoka and is therefore Rhineland vice-champion in his weight class.

Maxime Schönheim also fought in the U11 as the youngest in the weight class up to 29 kg, with a total of 15 fighters. He fought hard but had to settle for 7th place after one win and two losses. A lot can be expected from him in the next few years. Max Stumpf started in the same weight class. Max is characterized by physical strength and a very good understanding of technology, so that after winning all of his fights he was in the final. Unfortunately he then lost to an opponent who was also technically strong and is now the Rhineland runner-up in his weight class.

Vico Montoya, Rick Bahmann, Jakob Bäder and Ludo Maxeiner competed in the U13 category.

As so often, Vico and Rick found themselves in the same weight class up to 31 kg. Both fought confidently and with clean technique. Given the strict rules for judo competitions, this is not always easy for young fighters to achieve. Rick had to admit defeat after two losses and Vico fought his way to 5th place.

Jakob fought with great willpower and tactical skill in the weight class up to 34 kg. With 7 participants in the double knockout system, Jakob fought his way to the final. Unfortunately, he lost to his opponent there and is now third in his weight class.

Ludo fought in the weight class up to 50 kg. Ludo used beautiful techniques, some of them self-sacrifice throws, with which he surprised his opponents. In the final fight he lost to a strong opponent and is now the Rhineland runner-up in his weight class.
